    Press Release
For immediate distributionPrepare for a spirited, al-fresco evening as the Londa Hotel and Scotland’s historic Glenlivet distillery invite you to a fusion of fine food and fine whisky, on Friday 20 May at the Londa pool-bar.

An unusually high-spirited evening awaits guests at the Londa Hotel on Friday 20 May, as a selection of Glenlivet single malt whiskies is served to accompany a specially prepared 4-course gourmet dinner, created by award-winning Londa chef, Patrick Steklmacher.

The Whisky and Food Flirt will be arranged in the delightful al-fresco setting of the Londa Pool-Bar, providing a welcome cool breeze to offset the heat that is sure to rise as five quintessential Glenlivet single malt whiskies are served throughout the culinary evening.

The unique gourmet experience will begin with the enduring classic, the Glenlivet 12 Year Old single malt, which will be served at the opening cocktail reception; this will be followed by the Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, selectively inspired to accompany the first course of Iberico de bellota ham with smoked duck breast red currant, fig jam and chervil.

The second course, Orange marinated tuna fish loin, served with liquorice and ginger glaze, beetroot cured salmon and fava bean crème, will be complemented by Glenlivet’s ‘most elegant’ 2006 International Spirits Challenge Trophy and multi award-winning 18 Year Old spirit.

For the third course, an exquisite combination of Herb baked fillet of venison, fennel and foie gras William, chocolate glaze and parmiggiano reggiano crème, will be served, perfectly accompanied by the Glenlivet Archive, a spirit that is renowned as a ‘masterclass in maturity’ requiring 21 years to attain its perfect strength as it is repeatedly matured in up to 7 different oak casks.

This unique gastronomic evening will conclude with the delicious dessert course of Pear and carob mascarpone cream, with caramelized figs and vanilla sorbet, whilst the Glenlivet XXV, a ‘masterwork of matchless quality’ is served as a fitting finale from the whisky makers of the Glenlivet Distillery regarded by their peers at the ‘pinnacle of their craft’.

Since the Glenlivet Distillery was established in the remote Livet Valley of Speyside, Scotland in 1824, it has defined the standards of single malt whisky production for generations. This pioneering spirit continues today with Glenlivet widely acclaimed as the ‘whisky lover’s quintessential single malt’, something which the Londa’s Whisky and Food Flirt will highlight.

Jochen Niemann, General Manager of Limassol’s unique boutique hotel, the Londa, said “We are delighted to offer this rare evening of fine food and fine whisky…our Chef, Patrick, has crafted an outstanding menu that fuses beautifully the spirit of the Glenlivet single malt and its astonishing ability to be paired with a wide range of dishes and ingredients…enhancing the enjoyment of both. This will be a gastronomic experience to remember.”

With Coffee to end this sumptuous 4-course gourmet feast and an extremely attractive charge of just €85.00 per person, the demand for this special evening will be high. Early reservations are advised.
