Jazzy Brunch returns with the notorious Serpico Jazz Quartet

JANUARY 12, 2012

Forget the cool, wet winter; Limassol’s Londa Hotel is turning up the heat again as the 2012 Jazzy Brunch Series launches on Sunday February 5. The Serpico Jazz Quartet will be swinging into rhythm mode as their sounds enthral Caprice restaurant diners enjoying a mouth-watering lunchtime buffet, set in the unique ambience of the island’s only contemporary boutique property.

The Quartet comprises four outstanding virtuoso jazz musicians, each a master of his instrument, Michalis Michael on trumpet, Christos Morfitis on Piano, Marinos Neofytou on Bass & Guitar and Constantinos Paouros on drums; the quartet will perform a fine repertoire covering Latin to Modern Jazz, including covers of classic standards as well as some original compositions.

The resounding success of the first ‘JazzyBrunch’ season, which began in February last year, has seen a growing demand for more quality musical events; Londa’s General Manager, Jochen Niemann said “The Londa Jazz Series has gone from strength to strength… our guests are clearly delighted with the calibre of our ‘JazzyBrunch’ shows and we are proud to launch our 2012 series; we have a fabulous season of outstanding musicians and performances to come…”

The Londa’s award-winning Caprice restaurant will again host some of the finest jazz musicians on the island. The Caprice’s cool Italian styled interior, flanked by the tranquil blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, is the perfect backdrop for the hypnotic rhythms and vibrant swing jazz sounds that are brilliantly performed by this talented Jazz Quartet.

Matthew Steliou, Artistic Director of the Limassol Jazz Festival and producer of Londa’s Jazz Series adds “Each member of the quartet is a virtuoso jazz instrumentalist in his own right; the guys are in constant demand both here and abroad and regularly perform in international concerts and festivals”.

The Sunday JazzyBrunch lunchtime buffet is served between 1.00pm – 3.30pm in the Londa’s Caprice Restaurant on Sunday February 5. At just €35,00 per person, including a delicious lunchtime buffet, the ‘Londa Jazz Series’ is sure to be a sell-out; reserve your table now to avoid disappointment.
