More smooth sounds of Summer Jazz will accompany the fine food, stunning views and hip ambience of Londa’s Caprice restaurant; yes, Jazz Brunch returns on June 9 as Trumpeter Michalis Michael Joins Jazz Trio, Leonid Nesterov On Piano, Andreas Stefanou On Drums And Chris Pound On Double Bass.
It’s Summer-time and the living is definitely easy at Londa Hotel’s Caprice Restaurant, especially when the Leonid Nesterov Trio return for another Jazz brunch on Sunday June 9, with special guest trumpeter, Michalis Michael.
Popular and accomplished jazz trio, Leonid Nesterov on piano, Andreas Stefanou on drums and Chris Pound on double bass, will be accompanied by Michalis Michael on trumpet. The quartet will delight diners as they enjoy a chillout Sunday lunch buffet in the Caprice Restaurant’s cool Italian styled interior; set against stunning floor to ceiling picture windows offering views to the shimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea; the setting is the perfect backdrop for a leisurely and indulgent Summer-time lunch.
The ensemble jazz musicians are well respected virtuoso instrumentalists in their own right. Nesterov began his music career at the tender age of 8 in his home town of Indra, Latvia and regularly performs on the European jazz circuit; Andreas Stefanou, graduate of Rotterdam Conservatory, is one of Cyprus’ most renowned home grown musical talents; one of a new generation of jazz musicians who has travelled Europe extensively, performing with celebrated stars including Nelson Faria, Kiko Freitas and Anna Ellis de Jong. Whilst Chris Pound, who began learning the double bass at a very young age, is a native Australian; he has a great following as one of the finest young double bass players currently on the jazz festival circuit, collaborating with such luminaries as The Reuben Lewis Quintet, the Pollen Trio, and the Austin Benjamin Trio. Seasoned guest trumpeter Michalis Michael is a renowned performer whose fine musicianship has seen him accompany Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and George Dalaras among others. He began playing trumpet in 1979 under Vesa Ania, Esko Lopponen and Kalman Kovacs. He is both a soloist and active member of the Cyprus Jazz scene and Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, with numerous TV and film credits to his name. All four performers will bring their unique talent to the Londa for a fine afternoon of classic and contemporary jazz sounds.
General Manager of the Londa Hotel, Jochen Niemann, said “The Londa’s Caprice restaurant is a delightful setting to enjoy live music.
