Londa Hotel Christmas decorations… ideas and inspirations
Looking down the Londa ‘Things to do at Christmas’ list, we saw the magical words, Christmas Decorations and we knew it was time to spread festive joy around our lovely hotel. The question was though, ‘How much is too much, how little is too little?’ For the answer we turned to Londa Hotel’s interior designer, Letizia Caruzzo, whose initial sophisticated yet simple concept of ‘Man and Nature in the Mediterranean’ appeals to so many.
A pure white Christmas
Letizia styled the gorgeous pure white trees and contemporary interwoven branch and light orbs that sparkle radiantly. And though she may not have predicted Cyprus’s recent snow flurry, they match perfectly with the white-capped peaks of the Troodos mountains seen in the distance.
A handy idea for Christmas trees
Of course, we had to have iconic Christmas trees but why have just one big one when we could decorate the Londa with the most adorable handcrafted trees made to reflect the Troodos forests. Dressed with red berries, the touch of colour is vivid, and alongside the open fire and the sweet smell of pine cones mixed with aromas of Londa’s hot chocolate drinks, the atmosphere in the lounge is a winter wonderland.
Mistletoe kisses and wishes
Then we had a great idea for a Christmas prize draw. We remembered the tradition of kissing under the mistletoe and recalled the passage from The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent, by American author Washington Irving; ‘The mistletoe is still hung up in farm-houses and kitchens at Christmas, and the young men have the privilege of kissing the girls under it, plucking each time a berry from the bush. When the berries are all plucked the privilege ceases.’
So at reception you will find a bunch of hanging Mistletoe. Have a kiss under the green leaves, take a selfie and upload it to the Londa Facebook page where you will be entered into the prize draw for a romantic dinner for two. Wishes really do come true at Londa!
A very happy Christmas
Lastly, we echo again the inspired words of Washington Irving, “Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”
We look forward to seeing you round the Londa ‘fire of hospitality’ this Christmas.
