Caprice new menu

It’s that time of the year again when the menu at Londa Caprice Restaurant is refreshed with beautiful dishes to reinforce its reputation as the best Italian Mediterranean restaurant in Limassol… maybe in the whole of Cyprus.

Fish are trending

In the new summer menu the top trending dish is fish. In fact, there are 13 fish recipes sprinkled throughout the 10 sections. Fresh and with stunning presentation, the locals are Red Snapper, Sea Bream and Sea Bass, with Turbot, Salmon and Halibut arriving twice a week from trusted suppliers. Taking the suggestions of Italian consultant chef, Cristiano Iacopini, Londa Head Chef Vassos Michael has kept some of your favourites and changed over 50% of the menu to meet modern desires for healthy, fresh and creative food. We asked Vassos and Londa Sommelier, Nicolas Savva to put together just a few suggestions from the new dishes for an excellent evening out.

Romantic rendezvous

You want to treat your partner to an anniversary dinner or romantic meal and you choose Caprice for the stunning views of the sea and the contemporary atmosphere. Chef Vassos Michael recommends the luxurious Antipasti starter of Capesante fresche tartare con agrumi e carpaccio di Salmone; fresh scallops and fine slices of salmon, dressed in citrus salad and garnished with salmon caviar. Then comes a choice of Pasta from the strong Italian flavours of Tagliatelle frefresche di spinaci con salsa al gorgonzola; homemade fresh pasta with strong cheese sauce to tang the taste buds. Or the softer option of Papardelle d’aragosta; Lobster papardelle from Italy with fresh tomato sauce. Then for a summer colour fiesta from the meat courses, Vassos feels that the Petto di Pollo farcito con prosciutto e mozzarella con salsa di limone is the perfect accompaniment to romance; chicken breast stuffed with sumptuous prosciutto and mozzarella served with rucola, roast peppers and lemon sauce. Nicolas also recommends the following wines to compliment the meal: Prosecco Zardetto Conegliano Valdobbiadene Docg and Nero d’avola, Gasa Girelli, Sicily 2011.

A night out with friends

The new Caprice menu is also served on the Terrace; with its environment of vitality, there could not be a better place to meet with friends, chat, laugh and enjoy a special evening with special people. Why not share a wholesome salad to get the party started of Avocado, red chicory and rocket with parmesan flakes and cherry tomatoes, all served with plenty of Caprice homemade breads. Two brand new risottos grace the menu, one of mushroom and cheese truffle, using oyster, Portobello and shitake mushrooms, and the other of shrimps, asparagus and saffron; the ideal sharing dish. Then check out one of the 13 fish dishes – local sea bream stuffed with scallops, prawns and herbs, served with ratatouille, and grilled for a healthy main course. But don’t forget to leave room for the new Caffe pana cotta, a traditional Italian sweet made fresh to finish. Wines to share are some of Nicolas’ favourites: Soave classic, Zenato, Veneto 2013 and Tor Del Colle 2009 Montepulciano d’abruzzo, Riserva.
