Jazz trombonist Maxim Piganov and Leonid Nesterov Trio in concert at the Londa Hotel on June 26th
The 2016 Jazz series continues at the Londa Beach Hotel in Limassol with the Russian trombonist, Maxim Piganov playing with the acclaimed Leonid Nesterov Trio. Having enticed full houses throughout last year to the award-winning Caprice restaurant, the renowned Londa Jazz series and the contemporary ambience of Londa’s chic boutique style, continue to entice local and international audiences alike.
Maxim Piganov is a Jazz trombonist and trombone teacher, arranger, conductor and bandleader. Piganov graduated from the Kaliningrad Musical College and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. The Kaliningrad Dixieland, which he founded in 1981, became one of the leading Dixielands in the USSR by 1986, with a series of successful performances in jazz festivals around Europe. Piganov appeared in both big band shows and solo programs with George Benson, Richie Cole, Randy Brecker, Toots Thielemans, Billy Cobham, Frank Foster, Les Brown, The New York voices team and others. His concert experience includes Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, The Moscow Days in Geneva, The Russia Day in the XVI International Art Festival, the Russia – USA Presidents meeting and much more.
Leonid Nesterov found his musical calling in Latvia and moved to Limassol in 2010 to pursue his career; He plays with many talented musicians around Cyprus, sharing his passion for Jazz and also performing with various musicians from the Baltic States, Germany, United Kingdom, Russia and Israel.
Nicolas Tryphonos studied electric bass at Nakas Conservatory in Athens, at the Conservatories of Amsterdam and Utrecht where he graduated in Jazz double bass; Tryphonos is an active musician in Cyprus’ flourishing music scene and often travels to the Netherlands to play.
Andreas Stephanou graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory and he is one of Cyprus’ most recognized musical talents of a new generation of Jazz musicians. He travels extensively to perform with celebrated artists including Nelson Faria, Kiko Freitasb and Anna Ellis de Jong.
The Jazz concert will take place on Sunday, June 26th at the stylish Caprice. The audience will enjoy suave melodies and vibrant Jazz sounds with stunning sea views in the backdrop, sealed with a five star service.
