Dances with Londa Beach Hotel

If an event is organized in a city for eighteen consecutive years, it ceases to be considered just as an event. It has definitely earned the status of an institution. Such is the case of Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival. During the first seventeen years of its history it went by the name of ‘European contemporary dance festival’. This year the name is slightly altered so as to attract the younger audience and to take a whole new perspective, including the Levant states in its programme. So this year Limassol visitors can enjoy contemporary performances from 9 different countries. The Festival has established a special position on the map of contemporary dance events and it has succeeded in building bridges with worldwide choreographic productions plus creating a platform for them to talk about and really get to know each other’s culture and special habits.

Six of the eleven programmed performances, of critically acclaimed dance companies, will be hosted at the Rialto Theatre in Limassol and five in Nicosia, so it is definitely a wonderful chance to see how international visitors interact with each other. This is one of the most wonderful parts of our job, here at Londa Beach Hotel. Receiving guests from all over the world and creating a kind of ‘home away from home’ for them in this hotel. It is obvious that our work is quite different from that of dancers. It is not as demanding physically nor does it allow for much ‘expression’. But like dancing demands dedication, arduous training and precision. And we think that is an interesting perspective.
