A fateful coincidence or the playful touch of Aphrodite? Bridal shows and Wedding exhibitions appear to be everywhere in Limassol at this precise moment – just as Londa Hotel plays hosts to this year’s “Mums2Be & Baby Day Expo”. It’s only natural – Cyprus is the birthplace of the mythic goddess of love and creativity – and let’s not forget Leto, Greek goddess of motherhood!
This year’s wedding season itself may be nearly over but already thoughts are turning towards next year when the first nuptials usually begin in May. We’re delighted to say that over the years, Londa Hotel seems to have gained a firm reputation as a Limassol ‘go-to’ venue for couples looking to take their vows in an authentic Mediterranean setting, luxury boutique style.
Everything the bride and bridegroom are likely to need
The first of the autumn Bridal shows, featuring around 150 wedding dresses, plus jewellery, make-up and hairstyles by Cypriot and overseas designers is being held at Panos Solomonides Cultural Foundation, near the Limassol Marina on 25th October, 6–9pm. Just like page boys following behind the bridal train, the wedding industry is soon on the march once more! Just days later, the “Gamos Show 17” wedding exhibition, is being staged at Limassol’s ΤΡΑΚΑΣΟΛ Cultural Centre on the 18th and 19th of November18th and 19th of November, 2-9pm. Once again, more than 150 of Cyprus elite suppliers will be offering everything the bride and bridegroom are likely to need for the perfect day – including honeymoon invitations!
Right in between the two wedding shows and planning for the big day, the happy bride – who may now be looking forward to planning her next bundle of joy – comes the Mums2Be & Baby Day Expo, which is being held at the Londa Hotel on Sunday 29th October, 10am–6pm.
Essential information to help prepare for pregnancy
The event, which is now into its 5th year, is organised and presented by local social networking site, ‘Mums in Cyprus’, in association with MAM Baby, a leading baby products producer for over 40 years. The day aims to provide first time mothers and new parents with all the essential information they need to help them prepare for pregnancy, the newly born, and baby’s first year. Many of the business exhibitors are working mothers, so this is definitely a “mums for mums” event!
The Mums In Cyprus network boasts more than 2,500 members so it’s not surprising that the Expo is being held in Londa Hotel’s special Conference space! Among the many specialist exhibitors for expectant mums to talk to will be the network’s very own clinical nutritionist as well as a birth and family photographer. Women’s health teams will also be on hand for advice on pre/postnatal care, mum and baby clinical pilates, and yoga classes. Mums-to-be can also meet a baby-wearing advisor!
No baby day would be complete without the “ahhh” factor! What mum can resist browsing the tiniest baby gloves and booties! A select number of retail stands will be displaying their range of eco-friendly mum, baby and toddler clothes, shoes, and other tiny-tot essentials.
Visitors will be invited to help support natal screening programme
The Expo main sponsor is Nicosia-based ISIS Clinic, the island’s leading gynaecology, maternity and fertility centre which supports natural birth and breastfeeding, and organiser, Mums In Cyprus, have decided to keep the admission free. At the same time, visitors will be invited to help support the network’s chosen charitable organisation, the Centre for Preventive Paediatrics – a vital pre- and post-natal medical screening programme offered free of charge to all pregnant women and newborn babies across Cyprus.
Londa Hotel is never happier than being involved with the island’s important family, community and cultural events. It is often said that it is the eternal quest for finding authentic human experience within historical and cultural timelines that keeps bringing visitors to ancient Limassol, close to the home of the fabled gods and goddesses. We feel sure that the spirit of Leto, goddess of motherhood will be present at Londa for the Mums2Be & Baby Day Expo. What mum could keep away?
