Limassol is a TripAdvisor top destination for 2015

The list has just been published by world-renowned travel site TripAdvisor for the 2015 Destinations on the Rise. And there at number 3 is Limassol, home of Londa Beach Hotel.
Rated by the TripAdvisor public, Limassol has reached third place as a destination to visit, as CNN journalist Katia Hetter puts it, “before everyone else does,” as they “may soon be 10 of the most popular destinations in the world.”

Why Limassol?

At Londa we have many repeat guests who we have the privilege of hosting every year for their restful holiday but it is also always great to meet the new people who walk through our door. More than this, it is wonderful to explain to them what Limassol, the city by the sea, holds.
As the second largest city in Cyprus, Limassol has a colourful history to view, from the Roman archaeology museum, the stunning byzantine painted churches, the Medieval castle where Richard the Lionheart married, and Greek temples of Aphrodite. In terms of nightlife, the restaurants, clubs and bars are lively and assorted, the cafes reflect the coffee culture of the island and the restaurants in the narrow alleys and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea are superb.
Recently, Limassol opened its new marina, a thriving waterfront esplanade of shops, eateries and wine bars; an excellent choice for mooring boats or for taking a pleasant stroll. Shopping in Limassol varies from the high street stores to the boutique art, fashion and jewellery shops where every budget is catered for.
Then there are the beaches and coastal walks. For nearly 8 kilometres the new boardwalk and water promenade gives you the opportunity to walk through eucalyptus groves, along expanses of dark sand and even to explore Limassol’s own sculpture park by the sea.
Limassol is also home to a brand new motor museum, visiting exhibits of world-class artists and the chosen venue of musicians all year round.

City pride

At Londa we are proud to call Limassol our home and like all proud owners, we like to show off just a little about what guests can experience. Likewise, it seems that TripAdvisor reviewers have caught the Limassol bug and have given what the travel site describes as, ‘the greatest increase in positive feedback and interest from TripAdvisor members, year over year.’
Barbara Messing, Chief Marketing officer for TripAdvisor is quoted saying, “The TripAdvisor community has helped surface some unheralded destinations across the globe that are receiving rave reviews from travellers worldwide. These award-winners offer highly rated options for accommodations, restaurants and activities to inspire those planning their vacations for the new year.” So on that note, we look forward to welcoming new people and familiar faces, to showing them our city and hoping that they have the same wonderful experience of Limassol that we have every day.
